Yeah…one thing I miss about good ol Twitter is I felt we had better dialogue and discussion. But it’s also likely a sign that we’re fatigued with the nature of what it’s become and the general negativity of it all.

What’s funny is that we were given a receipt that proved our documentation was underway and it should be accepted by any government agency around the country, but that’s really only done if they feel like it. So while one town might accept it, that doesn’t mean another will. Guess what we are in?

It has also meant that we can’t properly and fully insure our house and property because we can’t prove our residency status, even though we are fully registered somewhere in some part of a government database.

We can’t prove that we are residents because the local government that is supposed to provide us with this documentation is by their measurement, at least 90 days behind schedule. That means if we don’t get our paperwork before the next tax date, then we have to pay money we don’t owe.

Unlike every other country I’ve ever lived in, you are supposed to know that you owe this tax and it is up to you to figure out how much you owe because they won’t tell you. Now since we are currently residents, technically we don’t owe the next installment in December but…

We can’t register for our local residency and get into the healthcare system until we get that documentation either. We’ve had to do some convoluted shit to get car insurance, which is also costing us a fortune. Yet we’ve complied with everything we were supposed to do.

Because we were unable to get the required documentation on time, we had to pay VAT on our personal items for our house that were shipped into the country and we only have six months to provide that documentation or we lose that money and we get hit with a fine.

Many years ago, I contemplated doing a startup around building a lapel like recording device that generally always recorded, but if you tapped it would ensure that a live stream was being recorded to the cloud in case of safety issues kind of like car cams. It needs to be a free service as well.
