I’ve decided I need to come out as nonbinary to at least one person at my sports club because I can’t make friends when they don’t know such a key detail and Idk if they are accepting… So… just need to figure out how first… and how to not shit my pants about it…

A big part of being a historian is being a detective! Who did this? Why? Where? Why does it matter in the grand scheme of things? You have to learn how to probe, how to uncover, how to read against the grain, how to find unusual sources, how to interpret those sources. How to piece together a puzzle
It also robs students of learning *how* to research.

Once you buy that it is just simply inevitable, then nobody is making a CHOICE to push the technology and therefore nobody is responsible for the consequences. Oh those are just unfortunate consequences of the march of progress, tragic but unavoidable, oh well, no reason to cry over spilled milk.
