Something that I feel has been missed in the discussion of A’ja Wilson’s greatness is that the payoff of her ascent is earned.

Four years to the day since being blocked by Brittney Griner with a series on the line, Wilson’s game three game winner marks the completion of her hero’s journey.
With A WNBA Finals Game Winner In Hand, A'ja Wilson's Ascent Is Now Complete
There's no question about it now. One win away from a third WNBA title in four years and on the heels of a Game Three game winning jumper, A'ja Wilson is officially the undisputed best in the world.

Really not loving the tankie heel turn of a lot of WNBA fans re: Project B.

If your whole thing is “the U.S. sucks so folks can do whatever” then you’re basically buying into the nihilism of shit never getting better or a better way being possible.

Yeah the W should never flip their calendar.
BREAKING NEWS: MLS owners have officially voted to flip to a fall-to-spring season, aligning with top leagues around the world, per @paultenorio.bsky.social.

The league will begin play in the new format in 2027.

Kind of amazing that the Senate Dems broadly cave and the House Dems respond by immediately scorching the earth and forcing the issue on Epstein.

Heck of a counter.

I think I treat Unrivaled differently than the others because the founders/owners are also the labor. It’s as close to a worker co-op as you’ll find in pro sports and I believe in that model for long term equity for all players.

Project B feels more like rich people doing dumb rich people stuff.
What do you see as the distinction between this, Unrivaled, Euroleague, the WCBA or any of the other leagues players play in during the off-season?

Why would you treat one differently than the others?

I think it’s fair to criticize AT and Nneka for joining up here.

Cashing in after a career of being underpaid is rational. But you’re old enough and have been in the league long enough to know what’s at stake here.

Lead from the front and stay disciplined in your message. They betrayed that.

Look, everyone can have their own morals about Saudi Arabia but at this point in the exercise the sports are more or less fully washed.

Once LIV got into the PGA, it was over.

The problem is and will always be that the Saudis and those that work with them are bad at running sports leagues.

I’ve been proven wrong before but I think Angel is actually a lot smarter than to get suckered into a short term winner like this.

One thing you legitimately can say about her is she’s a great long game thinker when it comes to her brand and business.
I wonder how much the list of non-returnees for Unrivaled matches up with the players aligning with Project B. Based purely on her popularity, Angel Reese is a natural star to build around for this.
We’re now up to two announced players for the Project B basketball league.

Nneka Ogwumike was first.

Alyssa Thomas is the latest today.
November 11, 2025 at 8:04 PM
Ultimately, the older cohort of WNBA players will do what they feel is best for them. I don’t blame them for bag chasing because they’ve spent their whole career not able to do it.

But if that’s what you want to do, might as well back yourself out of these CBA negotiations. No time for solo flyers
November 11, 2025 at 7:31 PM
They’re really gonna try and build a league on last payday players unless one of the younger Nike stars break rank.

But sure, this will work as a concept!
Alyssa Thomas has announced that she is also joining Project B!! I wonder who’s next?? 👀 #WNBA #ProjectB

This is also how nearly every newsroom leader in America is moving right now too, for those keeping score at home.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

I truly don’t think they understand that they’re radicalizing people by constantly capitulating like this. It actively makes the country more dangerous, not less.
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

I need some enterprising reporters in Boulder to figure out why Juju Lewis was not a day one starter.

He’s so much better in the pocket than Salter and it’s so obvious.

Folks will tell you CFB is unwatchable relative to the NFL but whats funny is the first half of every early Sunday slate looks exactly what this morning is looking like.
Two or three times a year there is a truly rancid viewing window of college football games with nothing fun happening, and we are in one of them right now

A lot of the Saudi sportswashing seems to tap into the disillusionment over the American project.

What’s ultimately more endgame than maximum, unfettered capitalism with no real consequences for any type of malfeasance?

It’s hard to beat that but it’s possible.
November 8, 2025 at 4:48 PM
I had a commenter on our YouTube page say I was a hypocrite because if the PIF came to me with $10m I’d take it.

The concept of ‘everyone having a price’ has calcified entirely too much in American society. All money isn’t good money and you aren’t a tube for feeling that way.
November 8, 2025 at 4:29 PM
The Premier League also said they had ‘legally binding assurances’ that Saudi crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman wouldn’t be involved in the PIF’s takeover of Newcastle until, surprise! He actually was.

They run the same playbook every damn time and everyone falls for it every time lol
Following Project B's announced signing of Nneka Ogwumike questions were raised regarding funding.

While Project B denies it is backed in any way by Saudi Arabia, there is a connection: Sela, a subsidiary of the Saudi PIF, is a league event partner.

A big reason we started NCS was to address coverage equity and make sure fans, old and new, were aware of all the good in the game.

It’s why I will always believe the watch guide is one of the most important things we do. Glad to be back on it this season.

I wrote, and did an extra video, on Nneka Ogwumike, Project B, the Saudi PIF and the unintended consequences of major choices.

In short, the finances of Project B are what people have wanted for the players. So where is our line on who can bankroll those dreams?
For The First Time This Year, The WNBA May Be Reclaiming Leverage in Their Labor Fight
Nneka Ogwumike's signing with the new Project B league should be a concern for those rooting for a collective labor win over WNBA ownership.
