I have been listening to the attempts to explain the cause of violence that led to the death of Charlie Kirk. The thought came to me that our nation was founded both upon the principle of personal liberty and upon establishing a shared social contract. Neither can exist without the other.

Right up until the minute Trump’s business ventures like Trump Shuttle, Trump Atlantic City casinos, Trump Steaks, Trump University, etc, etc, went bankrupt, Trump was claiming they were a huge success with big things right around the corner. Just like now with the economy.

This kind of action by lawmakers against constituents is unsustainable and will lead to the downfall of the Republican Party as it exists today which would be the best thing. They are threatened by truth. May we all continue to speak it to their faces.

I can’t help but think that by making religion a competitive sport - evangelical vs progressive vs Catholic vs Orthodox vs Jewish vs Muslim vs Hindu vs etc. - we religious types have likely totally missed the point of whatever religion we profess. G-d is likely big enough for us all. Just a thought.
