Had to be in California and miss this year’s Champaign challenger in person but I am definitely watching the streams. Might biased but it’s one of my favourites.
Big day of action in Champaign. Come join us here:

This might be my villain origin story.
Novak Djokovic is not playing the #NittoATPFinals
Wow. Shocking. Who could have predicted this? Incredibly surprised. Must have been a last minute, game day decision. 🎾

How would you feel if something you did, the way you sounded, looked, was constantly critiqued & you were told to change. It’s not like Sabalenka started grunting yesterday. She ALWAYS HAS! The fact that women are the some of the ones who take issue with this is WILD to me. Think people, think.

Before I started @groundpass.bsky.social I would listen to so many tennis podcasts & take what they said as “gospel” especially when they talked about the “facts” about a tournament or match. Now that I have to do my own research for Ground Pass it’s wild how many speak out of their ass!Confidently!

Novak be like warm up the jet 🤣🤣🤣
Look I said at AO 2024 - unless Jannik is injured, Novak is not beating him again. And I stand by that.
The way Djokovic is getting up from the change overs so quickly you can just tell he is done 😅
He doesn’t like playing Jannik 🤣

From the all-American Wuhan final to the cousin final in Shanghai, this might’ve been the best weekend tennis has had in years.
Anastasia explains Coco Gauff’s “winning ugly,” Jessica Pegula’s grit, and the wild story of two cousins in a Masters final.
New Ground Pass mini-pod out now. 🎾

“Every week there’s another decision you have to make — which tournament to stay in, pull out of, or go to.”
This week on ‘On Tour With…’ we’re joined by Hailey Baptiste, a sophomore veteran of the Asian Swing. Listen to her reflect on the tough calls players make between events. Audio clip below ⬇️🎾

I know I am speaking to the void but I wish we were more solutions based as a society than commentary based. This is mostly about my last post about tennis. I get it, we have thoughts and feelings but what are we gonna do about it. All talk no action is not it.

I am sorry but to everyone saying there are no crowds in China (Asian) like pick a new talking point. Like with everything and everywhere it’s SO player dependent. And just picking one empty stadium somewhere does not address the bigger marketing issues tennis has. 🤦🏾‍♀️😔

Seriously this has been a pattern of our meet the player episodes I didn’t really want to acknowledge but he literally hasn’t made a final since March! But has got to many semis… it’s gotta be something 👀
We might have to start calling it the #GroundPassEffect because Meet the Player with Eliot Spizzirri drops and he makes the final of a challenger (Jingshan) for the first time since San Diego. Coincidence? It’s happened before though 😏

My new iPhone finally arrived and I’ll be setting it up but I am struck by how shocked all these predominantly male tech reviewers are by the crossbody strap. You would think Apple had invented something new. Such an indictment of the world we live in. Welcome to the last I don’t know 5+ years.

I love watching qualifying and could never understand why it’s not available to watch outside of grand slams. This conversation answered my question. The courts are barely painted, how can we expect the matches to be streamed. 2 episodes in & this is already worth it. Oh the stories we could tell 🎾📝
Next ep of On Tour with Ethan Quinn drops tomorrow. We catch up with him in Tokyo where he qualified into the main draw. We discuss the transition from Chengdu, difference of direct entry vs qualifying & what his first time in Asia has been like so far.

So not sure why it’s become harder to share video on @bsky.app but we have tried everything from reducing video clip length to file size and it’s just become too tedious. Follow us on threads or instagram or YouTube for that. We will keep blue sky as text and photo only as long as we are here. 🙏🏾

I’ll never understand people who yell to the high heavens that they don’t like something then still participate in it. What do the kids call it, hate watching or whatever. Who has TIME?!? You don’t like something, keep it moving, loads of others things to do with your time right…

We’ve seen this cycle before: storm off X, crawl back, another exit, and suddenly everyone’s back on here. Question is—how long will it last? Guess I’ll keep my mute button handy.

I think it’s time to push back on the loud minority. Because if I hear one more podcast talk about the “Cups” or why do the results of Laver Cup count towards Official H2H I might burn my EarPods. Talk about missing the forest for the trees.
To all those who every year like a broken record say “Who even likes the Laver Cup?”, I do. We do. Lots of people do! We get it, you don’t. You remind us every year. Let’s all move on. Stop yucking, our yum 🙄
