Anyone who is using IES-facilitated data to criticize the Education Department today really needs to acknowledge that the entire research arm that has helped form the basis of their opinions about the federal role in schools has just been decimated, raising serious questions about progress tracking.

As Trump tries to dismantle the Department of Education, remember that his plan to cut the corporate tax rate to 15% would give the 100 largest corporations a tax cut larger than the entire department's K-12 budget.

Really think about how twisted this all is.

Congress created the US Department of Education, and only Congress can eliminate it. Indiscriminately firing its staff is a workaround intended to bypass this inconvenient fact and dismantle the agency anyways--no matter how many states, communities, schools, and students are harmed along the way.

The Department of Education will begin sweeping layoffs tonight with about half of its 4,400 employees expected to be let go, sources tell CNN.

Every child has an equal right to access a public K-12 education.

Yet, some lawmakers in Tennessee are pushing bills that could let schools deny kids an education based on their immigration status.

We must protect #EducationForAll.

This am, House Republicans will argue we spend too much on education. But that's not what voters want. In @all4ed.bsky.social poll, just 10% of voters wanted to cut fed ed $$. And even 61% of Trump voters said they'd be more likely to vote for candidates who'd target more $$ to schools most in need.
