Making public transit free can be a popular and highly symbolic action, but I’ve been on the record for quite a while saying that it should be compared with the projected/expected effects of spending the same amount of public money on increasing frequency and other elements of improved service. 1/

Incredible but not surprising that this article doesn’t even suggest taking public transport as an option to do your shopping instead of fighting for a car park….

Need a parking spot at a shopping centre today? Try this method
The painstaking process of driving hopelessly in circles at a busy centre is universal. So, is there a perfect strategy for securing a Christmas car park?

So proud of the great work happening in Minneapolis, which shows that boosting housing supply helps make homes more affordable.

A tax system that incentivises people buying big utes for "work" is terrible for the environment.

Emissions from passenger cars have fallen since 2005.

But that has been more than cancelled out by the increase in emissions from utes and other light commercial vehicles.

A gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting.

Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.
