Scientists will soon equip fishing vessels and their gear (dredges, trawls, pots) w/ sophisticated tech that'll measure how they behave + operate in wind farms. It's the first of its kind study here that'll help answer how OSW affects commercial fishing behavior: newbedfordlight.org/new-bedford-...

A judge granted a federal agency’s request to remand a key permit that it had given in January to SouthCoast Wind, an #offshorewind project planned off the Massachusetts coast. The Light's Anastasia Lennon @aelennon.bsky.social explains what that means.

I've been checking FERC daily and of course the Vineyard Wind data for Q3 drops on my day off! The project more than doubled the amount of electricity it sold in July, Aug, Sept from the previous quarter. Some quick math: est. 78,000 Massachusetts homes powered @newbedfordlight.bsky.social

Still waiting on FERC data for Vineyard Wind, but South Fork Wind's data for Q3 (July, Aug, Sept) just dropped. It sold about 84,000 MWH of energy over that period. Calculation for Long Island, NY, homes powered: ~39,200 homes @newbedfordlight.bsky.social

🚨BOEM today filed a motion to remand SouthCoast Wind's COP approval. This reflects the significant role lawsuits against offshore wind projects are now playing in the efforts to halt project development. This suit was brought by the Town of Nantucket:
