Today I was sent an invoice from my doctor because the pharmacy requested a refill for a prescription that I have taken most of my life. Since when is it acceptable for doctors to direct bill patients for prescription refills in Ontario?

The saddest part of what is happening in the US is that it was all utterly predictable.

I am begging Prime Minister Carney to build this nation on green energy and not fate us to summers on fire 🔥. More fossil fuel development is irresponsible and will destroy this country.

Before I sign off for Lent tomorrow, I think a few people need to read this: www.citizenshandbook.org/get_rid_of_a.... Good luck American friends. There is more you can do; just don’t expect us Canadians to do it for you.

I’ve decided to pause my social media diet during Lent. It is going to be hard, because I really enjoy and appreciate many people on here, even if I am not super active. Now I gave a few days to think about how I will fill the gap.

Please, let’s normalize waiting for the facts to come in and investigations to be done before we assert opinion.

I’m not taken in by a picture of Doug Ford wearing a “Canada is not for sale” hat. He’s got a MAGA one at home. Let’s kick this Trumper to the curb on February 27—never mind what the polls say.

Do Americans really think they will be able to vote again in four years? Unfortunately, that’s not how dictatorships work. I understand that we all need hope, but it might be a good time to start fighting back.

I am seeing American claiming that Canada wants to assume California. I know Elizabeth May joked about this, but honestly, even the bluest states are far too red (especially outside the cities). No thank you.

It is astonishing how many people still think “logic” and “reason” apply when talking about Trump. Isn’t it obvious that he is an emotionally led idiot (and puppet)?

Should Canada have publicly funded elections? No fundraising and every registered party gets an equal budget? It would solve a few problems; but could it work?

I’m not in support of reopening the east-west pipeline talks. Canada should be investing in green energy instead.

Today the news completely overwhelmed me. Nothing in particular, I think it was a cumulative effect. My heart goes out to anyone who is truly enduring trauma right now, because my life is presently stable and it is still too much. May we all find peace and strength.
