Superpowers come from recognizing what your vulnerability is, and @deanasolis.bsky.social's superpower is about quietly taking things in, and acting on what she's learned. Don't let it it fool you, because Deana is no pushover! Catch her episode out now!

Once upon a time, I wrote shitty prompts. I cried and cried because the LLM would not do my bidding. Then I learned how to write better prompts (and choose better LLMs), and all was well with the world. Learn from my mistakes so you don't have to suffer!

Finally reaped the benefits of my strength training: "bench pressing" my carryon suitcase into the overhead bin in my last few flights felt like a breeze! 💪 🤣

It blows my mind that there's a whole industry dedicated to making Shitty Conference Food (TM).

How can I hear the dude behind me on the plane snoring while I have noise-cancelling headphones on??

I met @lisamarienamphy.bsky.social just as I was on my way out of All Things Open in 2023, and I'm sure glad that I did! Getting to hear Lisa's tech journey and all the things that she's done for the community, has been inspiring. Hope you're inspired too!

Last day at #kcdPorto, which included a quick catch-up with @aurelievache.bsky.social!

Some fun shots of @joshleecreates.bsky.social and me at #kcdPorto. You can see me with my mask peeking out of the top right corner of the second pic, as we play with a real working Macintosh of the Olden Days.

So excited to be back in Porto for my SECOND KCD Porto tomorrow! Aaaaand, this is the third leg of my European tour with @joshleecreates.bsky.social, as we get ready to speak about #OpenTelemetry vendor neutrality. Catch us on November 3rd at 14:10 in the Synvert room at the Alfândega do Porto. 🤘

A year ago today I sprained my ankle at the #bouldering gym. It was a bad sprain that took a long time to heal, but I made it back to the bouldering gym, stronger, albeit more cautious.

First pic: post injury. Second pic: 2 weeks ago.

“The software that is most environmentally friendly is the software that doesn’t exist.”

Great quote from @paciorkowska.bsky.social at @cloudnativebergen.dev

Also, her talk on green Kubernetes is great!

@cloudnativebergen.dev day 1 included a very awesome and memorable hike up Mount Ulriken to get to the speaker dinner (winner for most creative way to get to dinner). I also loved getting to hang with Diana Todea, Imma Vallis, and @boredabdel.bsky.social, who is EVERYWHERE! 😁😁

New city == bouldering and bubble tea. It is the order of things.

This was THE most hole in the wall gym I’ve been to so far. You get to it through an underground parking garage. If I hadn’t asked for directions, I would probably still be standing there in utter confusion. But it was AWESOME!

It's been a long journey of airline delays, a missed connection, rebooked flights, and a long-ass layover, but I'm slowly making my way to Bergen for Cloud Native Bergen and my first-ever trip to Norway! 🇳🇴

Catch me on Oct 28th at 13:00 CET for my talk, "Observability is a Team Sport!"

@collcoll.bsky.social reached out to me on LinkedIn to see if I could have Amanda Brock on my podcast to promote State of Open Con in early 2024. I was swamped, but something told me that I needed to say yes. I'm so glad that I did! Catch Colleen's episode now!

The more I use custom instructions in an attempt to refine and provide more context when working with MCP servers, the more I'm certain that the AI is just fucking with me and laughing at me behind my back.
