Reflecting on meaning of Immanuel - Hezekiah in the first instance - in Isaiah 7-9. Struck that we can’t speak about ‘God with us’ unless we also become aligned with God. As for Hezekiah, the first leads us to the second. Hezekiah then enables Christians to interpret and recognise Jesus as Immanuel.
