The four stages of winrm:
1) agentless windows remote administration? this pretty slick
2) Hmm, these are some pretty insecure security defaults
3) HTTP? Negotiate authentication? I guess this was actually awful the whole time
4) Securing winrm is pretty easy, actually. Back to liking winrm again

Fun kerberos on linux thing, domains (or realms? idk, I don't actually understand any of this) are case sensitive. So if you put MYDOMAIN.COM in your config, be sure to capitalize it everywhere else.

Well...
Today I learned that if you use the dynamic vmware inventory in ansible you should be sure not start the tag name with a number. And especially do not make the tag a single digit.

If you do that, the plugin will change the first character to an underscore.

The SWRL rule worked, so I guess I'm trying to learn SHACL next? I'll probably try to write one that's all "your grandfather cannot be your son" or something like that.
Okay I think I understand SWRL rules enough to try one in Protege with the basic FOAF/RELATIONSHIP web I built.

Do I love how much of my personal time I have spent on this? No. Am I glad I learned it? I guess we'll see.

Wait, Carisi and Rollins have only been married for *TWO* years? Is that right?

Being snowed in, WFH, and having to manage remote school for my kids this past week was a reminder of what the pandemic was like.

One of the worst things about the Internet is somebody setting up a group or space and saying "you can ask questions about this thing here."

Then when you ask the questions the same person who set the group up is all like "Have you even tried googling this, you idiot?!?!?!"

One of my least favourite things documentation can do (apart from not giving examples) is to have dozens of command line flags and say one flag does the same as another, forcing the reader to find _that_ flag.

For example, the GNU "cp" manual page says "-a" is the same as "-dR --preserve-all" […]

Turned off autocorrect and text to speech on my android today. Those stupid features and broken beyond repair and will replace what you meant to say with something completely different. Not worth the trouble.

I'm definitely becoming a year zero guy for social media. shut it the fuck down. go back to RSS feeds and vbulletin forums. it should be more costly run a social media platform, doing so should involve more legal exposure, and it should be more difficult to access them.

Something that's always bugged me: Why don't zoos have video monitors up of some of their more popular animals? I know it is sort of absurd to go to a zoo to watch an animal on a screen, but a lot of them have learned where to hide so visitors can't see them as well.

Kind, good, happy, gentlemanly, secure people never go Nazi.

Those who haven’t anything in them to tell them what they like and what they don’t—whether it is breeding, or happiness, or wisdom, or a code, however old-fashioned or however modern, go Nazi.

Had this great exchange where I admit I was wrong about something online, but somehow it still made the person angry.

I mean this sincerely. Not just AI but the Internet itself is one of the worst inventions in human history.

Today I was diagnosed with a herial hernia, a condition that's beenaling me fatigued

While I was waiting to figure out what was going on, I had a number of people suggest that nothing was wrong. Here's the thing, all of those people were doctors.

This is why people turn to MAHA bullshit.
