Keir Starmer could be replaced as PM by an obscure MP, one of the hundreds of backbenchers Labour has in the PLP. A real statesman or stateswoman who is more leftist, progressive and competent.

I have never seen this country in such a dire predicament. Our democracy is rigged and the political parties are all controlled by the same mercenary svengalis and the corrupt private industries.

The war in Ukraine has lasted for almost four years now and it has to end. Garry Kasparov has said that this can be achieved if millions of Russian people go out to protest against the Putin regime.

In my opinion, the last truly great rock song was Waste A Moment by Kings Of Leon in 2016. It's in the same bracket as Sex On Fire and Use Somebody, despite inexplicably only reaching number 45 on the UK singles chart.

I've just watched Richard Branson being interviewed by Amol Rajan. Such an obsequious, sanctimonious man. And the real question was never asked – if Branson cares so much about the UK, then why has he lived on his own private island in the Caribbean for the last 48 years and avoided paying tax?

It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley – a fascinating, poignant documentary film about one of my favourite artists which will get its theatrical release in the UK this month.

People often say to me that I look young. It might be because I use natural, organic products where I can. I only use Syrian Aleppo soap and organic body wash/shampoo. I eat foods like oranges, blackcurrants and broccoli a lot; also honey and olive oil. I don't smoke and I rarely drink alcohol.

The broadcast media gives too much attention to right wing pundits. I wish that they would conduct more interviews with progressives like Zack Polanski, Jeremy Corbyn and Julian Assange to redress the balance (whether you agree with their opinions or not).

It's tremendous that Sarah Mullally will be confirmed as Archbishop of Canterbury today. Although I am not religious I still have a lot of respect and admiration for the Church of England.

There has long been a debate about modern vs traditional architecture. My favourite buildings and landmarks usually combine both -- an innovative, original design that uses natural materials such as stone. Exuding warmth, beauty and character.

Please do not use Wikipedia or AI. They are really flawed, unreliable and synonymous with the dismal era that we currently live in. If you have to use the internet for information then try Britannica or a reliable website instead.

As I said in a post last year, I am astonished by how people are so easily misled by the media. They are duped by the information they read or hear and repeat it verbatim. Always approach 'news' with caution, whichever outlet it is from.

Just watched The Traitors for the first time. Derivative populist garbage.

There are myriad songs from this era which are a pastiche of the 1980s. In my opinion, the best two are surprisingly ignored -- Want You Back and Nothing's Wrong by Haim. They both sound like great lost tracks from the 1980s, influenced by The Pretenders.

A public house is the heart of the local community. I have seen so many fail simply because of bad management, as they are run by petty tyrants who do not understand their regulars and their desires. A great pub has cheap and varied drinks but also character, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

#TitliTuesday with one of my favourite photos of an orange tip #butterfly I took in April 2022. Shame he is enjoying spanish rather than native bluebells, but a lovely contrast with his glorious orange tips. Lovely seeing the camouflage underwing too. @savebutterflies.bsky.social #Lancashire

This profile is also on 'Skyspace', a composite of Bluesky and the Myspace interface from the 2000s. I dislike social media and hope that someday we will all communicate entirely in real life again. I just liked this for the novelty value.

Some people comment that I wash my hands with soap and water too frequently. My response to them is that doing it too much is far better than not doing it enough.
