Was just forced to endure 90+ minutes of Fox News waiting for my car at the shop, and maybe it's because my expectations of the usual suspects on that channel are so low, but the person who I saw who was most infuriating was Fetterman. Just a complete waste of a Senator.

Donald's been talking a lot about heaven, and is also playing for a Nobel Peace Prize. The latter is mostly Obama jealousy, but I'm beginning to think he thinks it'll help with the former too; that God's waiting for some Swedes to give Him the thumbs up before letting him through the pearly gates.
Think about how gross the average aftermath of a six year old eating is and then look me in the eye and say that elementary school lunch workers/custodians, who are cleaning up after dozens if not hundreds of kids, don't deserve to be some of the highest paid people in our society. Fucking heroes.

While I'm on a sportsball kick, I really enjoyed Arsenal's win over Newcastle. "Same old ______, always cheating" is such a stupid, small-club-mentality chant, and every fan base who uses it deserves to have their hearts ripped out with late game losses like what happened to the Toons today.

More and more I've come to believe this: to be a conservative is to believe that the problems of other people are all of their own making, and something they or charitable individuals need to address; but that your problems are all someone else's fault and both require and merit state intervention.

I keep ruminating on the uphill battle anyone actually on the left has in order to get anything accomplished. Like, the fact that you're coming for some of the money of the wealthy is one thing, but at a fundamental level, progressivism is calling for collective action for the benefit of all. 1/

One thing that gets me about the anti-trans movement is just *how* anti-science it is. Even if you think being trans is a mental illness or a delusion, that has no bearing on what scientists agree is the best course of treatment: gender affirming care. Those two ideas can coexist. 1/

A thought I'm struck by as it becomes increasingly apparent that Donald is making decisions solely on who's nicest to him (with the nicest thing, of course, being bribery): I think an overlooked aspect of his ability to maintain his base is that he fulfills a power fantasy for them. 1/

There is something of an irony for QAnons and other right wing folks that they were so worried about pedophiles in the highest levels of government, that they put a pedophile in the highest government office. It could be hilarious, were the underlying subject matter not so awful.

Only tangentially related, but it's funny to me how I've gone from just loving Redwall, to thinking its villains are unrealistic in how regularly they backstab and undermine each other, to realizing no, the villains of our world generally are catty bitches who all hate each other.
