We were excited to be at the launch of Hertfordshire Sport and Physical Activity Partnership's No Limits 2026 campaign a few weeks ago. The campaign aims to support and empower disabled people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences to move more, and find activities which suit them.

We have published a new report that found only 3% of young disabled people meet the Chief Medical Officers’ recommended 60 minutes of daily activity.

But what stops them being active? A few key themes were identified.

A new research report, ‘Play, Move, Belong: Active Futures for Young Disabled People’, found that only 26% of young disabled people say they can take part in sport and activity at school all the time, compared to 38% of non-disabled young people.
