I actually worry about this aspect of having a β€œFeature Request” page in my app. Maybe I’ll have to address why it won’t be supported in an FAQ…

Nice! Was it hard to get the copy-cats removed? Did it involve action on your part or did Apple remove it automatically?

I’m definitely interested! Just applied through your website too ☺️

I want to engage with this post to incentivize you to use this platform more. It sucks that so many developers still post on Twitter and I miss out on all their brilliant posts πŸ₯Ί

If you don’t want to wait another WWDC and just hope that SwiftData gets iCloud sharing support, you don’t have to!

SQLiteData is here today 😁

I think it was either last year or the year before where they did realize and acknowledge that they were iterating at a speed some found overwhelming when it came to TCA, and planned on taking it easy. I am excited to see what they do in 2.0 though πŸ˜„

It’s also great to have a community willing to fill in some of the missing gaps, and you guys give your blessings via a PR approval πŸ₯Ή

Are the labels honor-based? I wonder whether people will say their apps support VoiceOver when they’ve never touched an accessibility label in their life, and just assume it’s supported by Apple’s UIKit/SwiftUI frameworks.

Accessibility isn't hard when you think about it from the start. So as the first weeks of the #Shipaton rolls on, consider what you can do to make your app more inclusive for everyone.

The iPhone setting even has a β€œReduce White Point” feature that can help you get the same effect. Anyway, that’s what comes to mind when it comes to color contrast and accessibility.

One test you can do too is dim your iPhone screen to the max and try and see if the text/buttons are still easy to discern from its respective background.
June 19, 2025 at 10:29 PM
Also, if you ever rely on a contrast calculator, sometimes those are unreliable for certain colors. I’ve seen black text be technically higher in contrast when compared to its background, but be much harder to read. That’s why I take it all with a grain of salt now.
June 19, 2025 at 10:28 PM
What you could do is make that button have a border for high contrast mode instead of rely on a fill background. Shapes can sometimes be a great way to display contrast, instead of relying on colors.
June 19, 2025 at 10:26 PM
When it comes to handling contrast, what I’ve learned is that each situation needs to be handled differently and guidelines can only get you so far. In your example, I would think contrast between text and gray background is more important than the gray background and white background.
