I'm excited to share our new article on the genetic basis of gut length in cichlid fishes, now published in Genetics. This project was a true team effort—from collecting phenotypic and genotypic data to working through the analyses. I'm grateful to all the collaborators who made this work possible.
The #GENETICS July cover shows male (top) & female (bottom) cichlid fish of the species Aulonocara koningsi at Mbenji Island in Lake Malawi, East Africa, key in revealing the genetic basis of gut length variation associated with trophic level in Lake Malawi cichlids.
