Facebook has become a tool for manipulation. It can not be trusted to provide a place for meaningful discussion, because it is introducing bias through censorship.

It is about time for Meta to start answering some questions in front of a committee again. Maybe in Europe this time.

2/ Some comments were moved out of the reply thread it was in and to the main thread, while the reply it was written to was missing. The incognito and signed in accounts saw far more often the same comments, but there were still discrepancies.
The VPN account saw a very different weight of comments.

Facebook is manipulating what you see in the comments. In a test with three accounts, one incognito mode, one on VPN - both not signed in - and my regular signed-in account, I looked at one post, with "All comments" turned on.
Some comments were missing completely.

Running across @scalzi.com 's account reminded me of a line from Old Man's War to keep in mind these days.

The universe, it seems, is full of tricks and assholes.

The difference is so noticeable. Here, I can actually read posts and their thread, and 90% of it isn't hate, or trying to turn cute kittens into a political stance. I guess the air is just clearer here. Let's hope it lasts.
