It's not immediately obvious, but you don't have to self-host to use your own domain name. Just go to Settings > Advanced > Change Handle > "I have my own domain" link. You'll need to be able to add a DNS TXT record or put a file in HTTP's /.well-known to verify, but that's all there is to it. 👍
