Tory policy: Let's spend 14 years asset stripping the country for our own ends & when we're finally voted out & things begin crumbling around us, we can blame the current government.
Slow hand clap Chris Philp, you hypocritical prick.

Posting again just to underline the fact that the X algorithm is VERY CLEARLY DESIGNED to feed far right material to new users…
It is straight up a propaganda tool and decent people need to LEAVE it.
Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

Mamdani, Greens and others shouldn't really be seen as radical. Rather, they should be seen as a return to the tradition of Roosevelt and Attlee. A return to the common sense social policies that were sidelined by 40 years of a trickle-down experiment that led nowhere.
#NewDealers
Two ideas defined the 1930s. Fascism on the right and Roosevelt's New Deal on the left. The only one to survive was Roosevelt's – until "trickle-downers" started dismantling it in the 1980s. Roosevelt's New Deal is worth cheching out, as it seems to be what folk are looking for again.

Squeeze of low/middle income families is part of a deeper malaise.

Political system is captured by big business and the rich. They fund political parties; control media & industry.

Govts reluctant to cut corporate welfare, tax the rich.

Power of corporations/rich is cause of austerity/poverty.
Why austerity is a political choice not an economic necessity

We regret the unjustified US 25% tariff on steel and aluminium imports.

The EU will protect its consumers and businesses.

We are launching swift, proportionate countermeasures worth up to €26 billion, matching the economic impact of the US tariffs.

Ugh. Farage on #r4today to comment on Starmer attending the EU summit. An explosion of prejudiced bilge. The usual crap about needing a “proper” Brexit and a US trade deal. He talks of “submission” and “humiliation” but would be very happy to sell us out to Trump.
The man is such a fucking bore.

Fascism and Oligarchy have joined forces. Their aim is to destroy our democracies so they can rule like feudal lords. Only a strong EU can counter that. The best way to make the EU and Britain stronger is to reverse Brexit – so that we can all stand united again on the barricade against tyranny.

Here's the Chancellor candidate of the German Greens, Robert Habeck, stating what everyone needs to know. Namely that a strong EU is the best counterweight to authoritarians like Musk and Trump. Which is why they support those parties that want to weaken the EU.

Private equity is a horror story for the NHS – one fifth of budget goes to it.

Privatised services treat 10% of patients, 3% in 2011.

59,000 private contracts in the NHS.

30%-40% of money vanishes in profits, longer queues persist.

End privatisation.
