I once had a teacher tell me that most people don't want to write so much as they want to "have written". The process is irrelevant, they want to have produced the end product.
Something else I think about is how much these AI prompt jockeys are stealing the experience of writing from themselves, they don't even realize what they're losing out on, cos writing is wonderful and you can grow and learn so much about yourself, the process is a gift. They're robbing themselves.
Even beyond the quality argument, these people aren't even 'writers', they're just assholes hitting what they think is the FREE MONEY button. Which sometimes works, so they keep doing it. If they gave even one solitary shit about art or even storytelling they would know better. They just don't care.
