I LOVE The Substance to the point of obsession. I can't remember the last time I watched a movie and knew everyone involved was at the top of their game. Directing, cinematography, acting, effects...just phenomenal.

Folks, if you are hungry, please contact your local Sikh gurdwara. Or just show up for langar, which most gurdwaras do several times a week, for a free meal. Lots also do weekly or monthly drives giving out groceries.

Watching Michael Sheen cook on Food Fight Club and skipping the Jamie Oliver bits and...is chili a different thing in the UK than it is in the US? Because I wouldn't call what he makes at the beginning chili. Wouldn't put porcini mushrooms in a chili either. Or serve it over brown rice.

Watched Wolfen (1981) today. Visually gorgeous movie. Not sure about its overall perspective. Also Albert Finney and Diane Venora had friendly chemistry, but not romantic. Wish they'd kept it that way.

Watched #GrizzlyMan yesterday and I think Timothy Treadwell's attitude is just another flavor of "I should keep a big cat/chimp as a pet, it won't hurt me if it knows me." At least he knew bears belonged in the wild and not his house.
