Hay there! I'm Abendroth, a huge fan of Vampire The Masquerade and a storyteller with big ambitions. I also like other dark ttrpg's like CoC and Blades. I love writting and talking about writing! My nerd superpower is an encyclopedic knowledge of classic monster movies. 🦇
My Dad was big into D&D when I was a kid and he always loved fantasy and horror, which is where I get it from. Now that I've taken up the ttrpg hobby and gotten so into it, I'm really sad that I'll never get to run a game for him. I bet he would have gotten a kick out of that.

Just arrived in the mail! I already skimmed through the PDF when it came out but eventually I'm somehow going to have to find time to properly read it. I remember liking what I saw but yeah. So much to do so little time 🦇

Writing progresses on the one-shot. Only focusing on story and characters atm as I'm still not sure what system I'm going to bake into it. A modified Hunter 5E was my first instinct, but this now really feels like a CoC scenario. I don't know if I can sell it some days if I do that though? Idk

I want to gush about how much I love my Daggerhear Bard for a moment. So they're a nimble spider monkey who is trained in the theater arts and surprisingly great in a fight, although she doesn't like to hurt anyone unless she has to. (Which is a lot.) She also has a haunted hurdy gurdy so yeah fun

I almost forgot I've got Daggerheart as a player tonight! So far I'm liking the system as it's very intuitive to pick up but I've only played in three games of it so yeah. I'm really excited to play it more as I want to do a big fantasy campaign some day but I'm not sure what system I'll use yet

I started with the simple "werewolf on a ship" premise. Then I added in ghosts because of course a ship that old would be haunted, and now I'm injecting cosmic horror into the mix because it feels right. It's funny where a story will take you when you're writing it

Inventing threats that the players can come up against on the ship for my next one-shot and there's a bit of variety now for a creative gm/st/keeper/whatever to use.

My experience with Daggerheart is very limited but so far I've really enjoyed playing it. I wonder how challenging it would be to run it online as opposed to in person

Just woke up and hell yeah it's Vampire Day! So for today's session I still have some scripted parts planned for important plot and mood setting reasons but there's tons of space for my players to RP with each other and with the NPCs who will be present. I'm hoping that I've struck a good balance!🦇

Another missed paycheck even though I was forced to work though the shutdown. On one hand I want it to end soon so I get paid cause I like, really need my money, but on the other I don't want the Dems to capitulate to the Republican cause it would fucking fuck the country over

So after letting my ideas stew for a couple nights and reworking the intro, I'm back writing for the next one-shot and I'm really happy with it so far. This one's going to be a lot of work but I believe in the story I want to tell and my ability to tell it!

The more I plot and plan for the "monster on a ship" one shot the more work I realize that it's going to be. I may have to put LOSS on the shelf and come back to it later, which might be a good thing anyway. There are so many things I want to do but capitalism takes all my precious time away from me
