How so very presidential.
This is a real tweet posted by the official White House government account. Yes, really.

Barefaced liars. The whole lot.
Presented with evidence that innocent people who are not members of any gang were wrongly deported to a slave prison in El Salvador, Homan flatly insists that all of them were in fact gang members (but he's unwilling to detail any evidence showing it)

Trump claims he didn’t sign the proclamation used to deport migrants under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 — but his signature is right there in the Federal Register. So… who is signing these things? And is that even legal? And did he sign any of these executive orders either?

Depressing? Yes.

Liberating, too.
This moment in our country's history is depressing, but it's also illuminating. We're finding out, in real time, whom among those in power will hedge their bets, trade complicity for personal preservation, and retreat into cowardice in the hopes they'll be spared.

And we will remember their names.

Trump signed an executive order that he said would “begin eliminating the federal Department of Education once and for all,” although the agency cannot be closed without the approval of Congress.

Well, this feels monumental. My first post. 300 characters. Phewww, that’s not a lot. I mean, it’s perfectly generous of you, @bsky.app. It’s about 300 more characters than one among us should have. But here we are. I will use those characters wisely. I promise. Sincerely. I will be a good steward.🫶

I am writing about what is happening to federal personnel policy. One difficulty is that it's hard to observe and verify what is actually happening. I am particularly interested in information about the employment status of individuals working with/in DOGE. Anonymous tips welcome. Signal: Nbednar.46
