Perhaps we can write a law protecting government officials from foreclosure or repossessions during a government shutdown. The buck should not stop with government employees. They deserve our respect. Perhaps those companies affected financially would push back on their congress people.
The government has been closed for a full month — and federal workers who have missed two paychecks are now using credit cards to pay their bills and visiting food pantries to stock their kitchens.
