Sheinbaum offered Trump the same 10k soldiers she gave Biden in 2021. Trudeau offered Trump the same border package he introduced in December. Trump backed down and accepted both. Trump is a paper tiger, like he was with Kim Jung Un and the "Great China deal" with Xi.

Trump has said this crap forever and a lot of people just rolled their eyes, thinking he'd never act on it. I mean, he has zero understanding of how trade can benefit both parties. But now we get to see it all in action. People will only respond differently when they feel the actual pain.

This was fun. I was interviewed by Asahi TV to talk about the election and the transition. I don't know Japanese at all so I don't know what the words over my face mean...But the interview was an hour and they used a lot of footage from it!

Had a nice experience keynoting a symposium on East Tennessee's Civil War this weekend. The war was a complicated mess in the Switzerland of America.

There are three types of Trump appointees:
1) MAGA but credible
2) Standard GOP
3) MAGA brain rot
All are personally loyal to Trump, but the rest of the GOP and the country will view the appointees very differently. Some appointees probably straddle two categories.
