Hi all, I'm an artist. I'm inspired by my Egyptology, archaeology and early Medieval studies along with Cult British Sci-fi (Classic Dr Who, Gallifrey and Blake's 7) & a good dose of Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes. I'm currently working on a botanical series based on flora in my garden and environs👋
Ah yes, that one artwork from 2019 which is pulled for review every time you update or edit it on Redbubble.

A travertine/calcite alabaster goblet with an image of King Tutankhamun and Queen Ankhenesamun from the antechamber in KV 62. It features the God, Heh. The image is only visible when a taper or light is used to illuminate the goblet. GEM 28.

Friday afternoon oil painting practice - the UI is still buggy, but I got the Reference Image element to work in Rebelle 8 (lost everything else in the process though, & hard crashed the app - thank goodness for the inbuilt saves and recovery files 😅).

Accessibility at the GEM:

This photo includes people with wheelchairs. People have asked how the museum deals with accessibility. I have included a link to an Egypt Today article on how accessibility has been taken into account in delivering visitor experiences.

November 4 means Egyptologists everywhere are cringing that people will be posting a picture of a seal from the second shrine of Tutankhamun as if it is the door to the tomb (KV62) which was opened on this day in 1922.

Sometimes I do a search on Redbubble for topics within my expertise to see how I'm tracking for quality. A lot of AI slop today, which is disappointing. I can assure you that I know the difference between Aswan & The Valley of the Kings, how many legs a camel has, & my hieroglyphs mean something...

Pleased to report the fairy wrens were very successful parents, all 3 fledgelings are now out of the nest, and have moved to the next garden where they have plenty of shelter and are yelling for food and practicing their flying (which is hilarious, as they are plump little puff balls of feathers).
Baby bunny zoomies in the garden while Fairy wren parents provide a feast for fledglings in the nest just outside our door. Another beautiful Beltane.

When you have no information if your favourite drawing software (seeming long abandoned by its Dev) is compatible with MacOS Tahoe, you have no choice but to export each piece individually so you can import it into Rebelle. I will be sorry to lose the pencil tools as they are the best I've ever used
