You will always find me in the kitchen at parties, even if I haven’t been invited.
Got a few surprise Happy Birthdays from 80s people.

13 year old me would never have imagined getting birthday messages from a Radio 1 DJ, the voice of Lion-o, and Maggie from Fuzzbox.

A man goes into a nightclub with a goldfish on one shoulder and a tiny leopard on the other.

Bolton is such an odd place.

You know the old Spectrum game Chaos?

Did you ever set up an 8 player game in which it was just 8 CPU players fighting against themselves?

I feel that’s what Twitter has turned into. Just bots tweeting with more bots following them, arguing amongst themselves.

It's still a full month until Pancake Tuesday, but already the shops are full of flour, milk and eggs. How ridiculous!

If you thought you were going to make it through the day without seeing the word 'pamphlet', then think again. Sorry!

Is this pub at Media City some sort of tribute to Douglas Adams?

That was good! I’ll be on BBC Radio 3 in a few weeks.

Today’s event is watching the Philharmonic orchestra at the BBC.

I looked at TikTok just now for the first time in yonks and there were loads of people streaming live. But they were all just listening to music and scrolling through their phones.

And people were watching these people looking at their own phones, live.

What have humans become?

Just got back from watching To Kill A Mockingbird at The Lowry. Fantastic!

The guy sat next to us accused me of stealing his phone. He couldn’t find it after I squeezed past him. When he did find it, I said “Apology accepted” which seemed to annoy him even more. Also fantastic!

Of out tonight to watch our first play of the year, To Kill A Mockingbird at Lowry Theatre.

I’ve collected animation cels for many years. These hand drawn, hand coloured pieces of art have all been in cartoons on TV, and I’m still amazed by them.

Where did your best adventure take you when you were a child in the 80s? Did you ever end up somewhere unexpected? And was it your fault, or your mates fault? (Always blame your mate!)

Some answers may appear on the 80sNostalgia website.

@robmanuel.b3ta.com Just scrolled down as far as I can on my old email address and found that I still have about 100 of these.

Question for the 80sNos website:

What was the furthest you accidentally travelled on your own in the 80s? Did you ever go for a small wander on your own or with friends and end up in another town?

Lego Back to the Future car and Lightning McQueen are in Costco, for £18 each!

Both have sold out on the Lego website, and Lego shops are stupidly busy, so if you don’t want to fight the hordes Costco has you covered!

Thanks to everyone who replied last week about their favourite 80s games. I’ve shared my board game memories and a few of your replies on 80sNos.

New question in a few days.

What’s your plans for today? Having a quiet one?

We’re packing some of our Lego away, like my wife’s original 80s Lego castle, to make room to display the Lego we buy this year.

Happy New Year everyone, from me and the ZX Spectrum’s incredibly limited colour palette!

Picked up an old board game calledJiggle yesterday from a charity shop in town. Never heard of it before, but on BGG it says it’s from 1970.

It’s a bit like a flat Tetris, in that you have to put different shapes on a board to fill it as much as possible without gaps.

Question for the 80sNos website:

What was the board game you and your family used to play the most in the 80s? Did you have regular games nights? Was anyone in your family a really sore loser?
