I've been reading Grand Blue Dreaming recently; it's often in poor taste but it's still really good... Even when the jokes don't land, the story is interesting with characters that aren't jerkoffs or one-note. Kind of crazy how it's doing better romance than Fragrant Flower (which sucks)

Played like 30 minutes of N++ for the first time and it was insane how well it clicked with me. I can easily see myself putting a few hundred hours into this

I do think we lost a certain something in game design when having to “replay” sections of a game started being seen as a punishment instead of just a part of learning the game.

Whether or not I do this, I definitely want to make lots of small 2-4 week long projects after Sonafleki, so be prepared! No fangame genre is safe!
Ok, here's a fangame idea: small fangames made over the course of a few weeks - a month, but the catch is that they are only available through an email listing. You sign up to the email newsletter and get a fangame once a month, complete with developer notes. Pretty cool, eh?

Spinning up a little video about Alltynex Second. I had a great time playing it recently and would like to do a video review of it. Expect it this weekend, if all goes according to plan

I wanted to post this before the year ended, but here we are now🤣Since it's still New Year's Eve until I go to sleep…Here's a hallucinatory doodle of the New Year's Eve Kenji Kumori duo.

the point of a game is not to beat it, it is to play it. difficulty is only "a problem" if it is "in the way" of beating the game, which is an issue in the mindset of the player, not in the structure of the game. redoing parts of a fun game is not a punishment, it's an invitation to hang out

Did I hit my goals?
- Barely any 1ccs... That needs to change! I should probably go for the rest of the Metal Slug games but the dropoff from 3 to 4 is rough haha... Any recommendations here are welcome
- It is technically finished, just waiting on playtesters and other QOL
- Only FF6... That counts
Goals for 2025 (gaming):
- More 1ccs!
- Finish my game!
- More RPGs!

Did you know? The average 21 year old watches at least 5 Dark Souls challenge videos every week. Be sure to reach out to a loved one if this level of challenge run content consumption is affecting their daily life.

Disregard this. Tester feedback is coming in and one level needs to be nerfed so bad it's not even funny haha
Both credits segments are done. I have nothing left to do, and therefore, I am left motivation-less.
I'm actually kind of in shock. The game is almost done. I have like maybe 20 days of work worth of things to put in before I start playtesting. This game I've been working on for 2 years that has always been "it's an insurmountable project that will never get finished" is almost finished
