🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

This is blatant life endangerment thru dangerous public policy I wouldn’t have thought possible until recently. In Ontario the Doug Ford Govt plans to BAN LAWSUITS against the Province WHEN people on bikes are hurt or killed after they rip out safe bike-lanes. “Stay off streets for your own safety.”

How my first semester as a new assistant professor has felt like while teaching a new class from scratch, starting a new lab with 4 PhD students, while pregnant and with a toddler at home. I am looking forward to winter break!

Hi everyone! I work on making better cameras and microscopes for science by co-designing optics and algorithms.

I also like to use my cargo bike to commute and get around town with my toddler. I mostly post about research and science, as well as urbanism and safe streets.
