I know nothing.
This was a dream that one of my bosses (and certainly others) had in the mid-1990’s.
Naturally occurring enzymes, while powerful, catalyze only a fraction of the reactions chemists care about. That’s why scientists are eager to design new-to-nature versions that could carry out entirely new forms of chemistry that biology never evolved. cen.acs.org/physical-che...

Weird. Why does the category ‘replies’ now include non-replies? Aren’t replies a subset of posts?

It’s foolish to expect peace in any part of the world when peace is not known in the hearts of people.

After some contemplation, I think that any conceptual division of us and them is incredibly harmful.

I wish I had more facility with language.

I keep trying to put words together but it’s useless.

“government of the people, by the people, for the people” has perished from the earth.

Nope.

I am again reminded why I didn’t try to buy a house again after I sold my condo when I had to relocate. Maintaining any property requires vigilance, access to knowledgable tradespeople and money.

These worthless fuckers are too inept to drive on light snow cover, too unprepared to have a shovel, too lazy to get out and push, and too stupid to realize spinning their wheels in place will just make it worse.

"Defend the Homeland"?

They can't even defend themselves from a mild MN winter.

Today I aim to, among necessities, take another stab at reading the book (treatise?) that I ordered from the library. I started yesterday but it was tough because a lot of it is based on an assumption that I don’t ascribe to. It’s a bit like doing math without proving 1+1=2.

This is an incredible throwback! The very first full album I bought when I started paying attention to Korean music was YB’s Why Be. Later, Yoon Do Hyun wrote “Now is good” for JaeJoong. Now Seungmin of SKZ performed Peppermint Candy with YB!

I’m facilitating the rehoming of two sweet cats who belonged to a friend who recently passed unexpectedly. They deserve a stable place to land. 2-3 year old bonded pair, one male one female. Please send me a DM if you have the interest and ability to care for these sweet voids. Located in Oakland.

Yesterday I decided that today should be a day of rest & recovery. So far, that hasn’t come to fruition. Do I even know how to effectively rest?
December 29, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Today I wanted something to listen to as I rested. Somewhat at random I chose a discussion that I thought would be bland. (The topic wasn’t current events.) But, the ending Q&A seemed to be addressing situations in 2025. When I looked, I was surprised to find it was recorded in early 2006.

A 40°F drop in temperatures in less than 8 hours seems a bit unusual. Hey Mother Nature, let’s not do this too often, yeah?

It might take me until well into 2026 to recover from this last week. I’m glad my siblings did manage to do a few of the things that I asked them to do for dad. Now the rest has to get integrated into the new year to-do list.

Pet parents. Don’t bring your enthusiastic dog into a cat’s territory without warning and off leash - especially if you know that your dog doesn’t typically get along with cats. If it had been my house and my cats, you would have been sent home.

It’s too early to use words. Just posted two sentences and both started with a form of ‘interesting.’
