The Neverending Story is quickly becoming a best rest of 2026 and possibly a fav read of all time. Maybe its nostalgia for the movie but I am loving it!

100%, Trek has been "woke" and "diverse" from the start, both TOS and Next gen were ahead of there time in tackling social, economic and political issues with meaningful stories, while much of new trek feels like virtue signaling and gimmicky story telling. I do still enjoy trek however... #startrek
The thing that will kill Star Trek is not "woke" or "diversity" but a weakness that reduces it to passive amusement and comfortable storytelling. When Trek stops taking risks or telling meaningful stories in favor of gimmicks or broadening its audience, it becomes common, disposable.

Today I start The Never Ending Story. I have seen the movie, love the song and have heard the book is good. But I also have not had alot of luck with classics, hit and miss.

The 1st time I read Malazan it was a challenge to get through the series. I almost DNF it but loved the world this series built at the same time. I Have heard it gets better the 2nd time through so today I start a re-read via audible on this foggy jan morning. Wish me luck lol

I really liked Shards of the Earth so picked up Eyes of the Void and Lords od Uncreation. Books 2 and 3 of the inhibitors series by #andriantchaikovsky. Although my TBR is pritty big so have no idea how long till I get to these ones lol

I started watching #heatedrivalry as I had heard good things about it
Just not for me, started to just feel like a gay porno. I knew it was a gay romance going in, and I have no issue with sex in media with both gay and straight sex but if i wanted long drawn out sex scenes then there is pornhub

I used to watch alot of youtube, #booktube #sciencetube #atheisttube etc bit find I hardly ever watch anymore
The platform has just become way to saturated with ads, some as long as or longer than the vid. I get ads, but the volume of ads has made it unwatchable, and premium not worth it.
