Nonsense. I'm no fan of ABC but every government is mandated to be fiscally prudent. We've had successive years of significant tax increases. It's time to reign in the spending and cut out some fat.
Ken Sim has no mandate to make these brutal cuts.
ABC has no mandate to impose austerity.
The City's own Budget survey showed people overwhelmingly prefer tax rates that maintain public services.

I was with a realtor in the late 1990s looking at houses, and I saw all these expensive homes with big trucks and kid toys in the yard. I said: This is nuts. The realtor nodded and said:" Yes, but you realize that it's not my job to tell people *not* to buy houses, right?
I used to drive around many areas with HUGE homes, large RV parking and expensive cars parked out front and wonder "how can there be SO MANY PEOPLE who can afford all of this?", until I finally answered my own question: They can't.
