Clearly nobody stopped to do the math of this 13 million Pokemon ZA budget. Say 50 people worked on this game for 4 years. 13M ÷ 50 ÷ 4 = $65K a year for everyone, not including supplies, marketing, etc. Get serious. 🤣

My 2 biggest issues with Pokemon Legends Arceus were the weird control mapping with mounts on start and menus on the d-pad, and the way NPC trainers would throw out 2 or 3 Pokemon against your 1 Pokemon, which was just cheating as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully those things are fixed in Z-A.

Due to the unique way Super Mario Bros. stores its maps, its level designers were at the mercy of the decorative hills and bushes when placing bottomless pits. While the pits can be placed freely, the decorations are non-negotiable and dictate the level design.

I remade the heart container border. I made a cleaner normal map with a new sculpt so the clouds are more pronounced and tweaked the glass effect so the back side renders as well and the reflection of the red heart bounces around it. #3DArt #Blender #UE5 #UnrealEngine #Zelda

I never figured out how to get real waves with custom water going in UE5, but I did get a rising tide and foam that reacts to objects and the shore.

I remade my coconut texture and made a green version. I made it to look like the Zelda Link's Awakening coconuts, which look a little different from real coconuts.

At first, I was just painting in the uneven specular highlights in these rupees, but with a little Photoshop, I was able to make them more visible as real roughness and specular maps.

The trees were the first things I modeled for this, and I made a hollow part in some with the idea of putting rupees in them, and now I finally put some in there.
