Anyone else ever become like too aware of the effects of gravity and everything either gets really fascinating for a second or terrifying, there is no in between? No, just me? Cool.

Well today is day one.
1,459 days to go.
I will be counting down each day.
Hope democracy survives.
One day at a time.

Does the new deal w Colombia address this at all ?
Yes, the deportees were in shackles. The crime they committed was having no documentation. That is not violent criminals.

I’ll never get over that all of this was avoidable and our kids could’ve had a better future had voters just made the obviously rational choice in November. It’s water under the bridge now. But what the fuck, people.

Somebody yelled at me for posting about Ganymede instead of /the state of things/ last night.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

We keep hearing about masculinity from the Zuckerbergs of the world-- this woman has shown more courage in this 60-second clip than any of the tech billionaires have shown in recent memory as they grovel at Trump's feet.
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

The bishop at President Trump’s inaugural prayer service implored him to “have mercy” on gay, lesbian and transgender children, as well as undocumented immigrants.

“I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now,” asked Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde.
Bishop Tells Trump to ‘Have Mercy’ on Immigrants and Gay Children
The direct appeal to President Trump at the start of the first full day of his presidency was a remarkable moment at a National Cathedral event that has not historically been political.

President Trump's move to pardon nearly all of the 1,600 rioters charged with storming the Capitol on Jan. 6 would effectively undo years of efforts by federal investigators to seek accountability for the mob assault on the peaceful transfer of power after Trump's loss in the 2020 election.
Trump Grants Broad Clemency to Jan. 6 Rioters
The extraordinary pardons and commutations extended to those who committed both violent and nonviolent crimes on Jan. 6, including assaulting police officers and seditious conspiracy.

There is a reason TikTok is so good at figuring out what you want to see, and why it’s better than everything else: it’s a weapon, and the best weapon is one you don’t know exists, or worse, one you think you can’t live without

Democracy died today.

The leaders of our country handed it over to Donald Trump and watched it crumble with smiles on their faces.

I’m beyond sickened.

I was wrong to trust that they would take action. I take full responsibility for believing otherwise.

"Over the past eight years, I have been tested and challenged MORE THAN ANY PRESIDENT in our 250-year history..."

What in the fuck is this persecution complex?

To call liberals soft and then have this sort of audacious victim mentality is WILD to me.

Trump promising that he'll
"forge a society that is color-blind and merit-based"
while also saying he is an example of the impossible being possible, in the US, is a sad and blatant display of his ignorance regarding the concept of privilege(+equity vs equality).
Not surprised but still disturbing.
