The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. 1966. Dir: Sergio Leone. The stars re-aligned when Leone met Ennio Morricone in ‘64 —unbeknownst to them, it turned out they went to primary school together in the 30s. It’s fair to say Morricone’s score is as much a character of the Dollars Trilogy as the cast itself

Metallica. “And Justice for All.” August 29th 1989 [my birthday!] Seattle. You’d think this was the last song of the show, but they went on to play an encore of: Battery, One, Creeping Death & Whiplash in all that rubble. The logistical planning to have the Lady Justice statue collapse like this… ⚖️

Chicago. “25 or 6 to 4.” 1970. It’s the Tanglewood solo. All of it. How to explain this, hmm — ok basically this is the Sistine Chapel ceiling of guitar solos. When they asked Jimi Hendrix what it was like being the world’s best guitarist, he answered: ‘I don’t know, you’ll have to ask Terry Kath.’
