Insgesamt 45 Minuten hat es gedauert. Genug Zeit, um noch einmal daran zu erinnern, dass an den Grenzen seit vielen Monaten täglich europäisches Recht gebrochen wird.
Und ich führe meine Angewohnheit fort, der Bundespolizei bei jeder selbst erlebten Kontrolle eine förmliche Beschwerde zu senden.

Fun fact zum Filmtitel: Das Haus mit der Adresse gibt es wirklich, aber die Postleitzahl ist falsch und in Belgien steht üblicherweise anders als in Frankreich die Hausnummer nach der Straße statt davor.
Das vertieft das Filmerlebnis, so wird man nicht nur von Action und Spezialeffekten mitgerissen.

Wie jedes europäische Land kennt auch Belgien die Tradition, sich über die Unzuverlässigkeit der Züge zu beschweren. Das entsprechende Gespräch endet seit einiger Zeit aber immer mit dem Satz "okay, so schlimm wie in Deutschland ist es nicht."
Die Karte zeigt: das stimmt, und es spricht sich herum.

Bekannte Ausnahme war der Karnevalwitz, der billige Anti-Gender-Stimmungen ausnutzen sollte, den sie später zumindest halb zurücknahm (mehr als Merz je täte). Gescheitert ist sie am Versuch, den Rechtsruck der Thüringer CDU aufzuhalten - das war Machtschwäche, aber dafür ein ehrliches Karriereende.

Meine Meinung zu AKK (und zur KAS) ist sehr ambivalent. Da meine Meinung zu Merz aber äußerst düster ist, ist die Wahl zur Vorsitzenden unterm Strich positiv.
Bis auf ein paar Ausnahmen hat AKK der Anbiederung der Union an Rechtsaußen in der Regel widerstanden und auch offen widersprochen.

Ironically, BDW created a moment of pan-Belgian nationalist pride because he managed to strongarm his closest allies into caving before the actual aggressor. "Belgium won" - against whom? I don't see the triumph here. This political style and gotcha behaviour doesn't bode well.

The EU made a mistake last night with yet another attempt to appease Putin (as if that helped in the past), and Belgium was the driving force behind it. It is stunning to see how the country is gaslighting itself into believing that De Wever is a visionary statesman.

Someone published the entire collection of slides from one of my courses on an open filesharing website without my consent (anonymously, if course).
Another half hour of my life wasted on trying to find out if I can contact the person directly and how to flag the misuse of intellectual property. 🙄

I just had a funding request rejected and despite the disappointment, part of me thinks "phew, good thing the application fell threw, I wouldn't even know when to do all this..."

The various governments may be united in their belief that radical austerity solves problems - the universities are united in the firm knowledge that it does not.
