This redacted document was in the Epstein dump, but the DOJ apparently forgot that they’d already released it a year ago. Can you guess whose name they redacted?

During the Presidential Election in 2024 the analytics company @decisiondeskhq displayed 5 fake counties in swing states that had a total of 20 Million fake votes. Could this be evidence of a hack that flipped the election for Trump?

Last job before breaking up: two journal article proofs finalised and the cover and index of my next book signed off. OK, that's me done for the year. Ten-ten, good buddy - over and out.

I suppose that’s a good point… Unlikely that Team America World Police have even heard of Bluesky though

You mean the AI / CGI “get massive and ripped via t’ai chi” ads?

I have, however, seen all of them on Amazon. Is that good or bad?

Since 2003, I've seen copies of my books in bookshops... TWICE. Once in Gateshead, once in Chicago. Someone once sent me a photo of another in Hong Kong. And someone else bought a hardback meant to be £100 for about 5 euros, in Croatia...

If Trump feels he must sue the BBC for misrepresenting him, does that mean everyone he has misrepresented really must sue him? Hope so.
I'll be giving a talk at The Japan Society in London next month on “Japan, Britain, and the Globalisation of the Samurai," which will also tie into some of themes of the upcoming British Museum special exhibition.

Should I buy the 'new' (2010) translation of Derrida's 'La Voix et le Phénomène' (1967) or just use the old 1973 'Speech and Phenomena'? I get *why* they've gone for 'voice' over 'speech' now, but does it make all that much difference (or even différance)?

I know scrolling social media is bad for you. HOWEVER, I recently followed loads of 'learn Spanish' pages. This means that as I scroll, I am challenged to translate a phrase or add a missing word. This seems to turn scrolling into a stimulating kind of 'distributed/micro-learning'. ¿Qué opinas?

Final, approved cover design. Very happy! (Publication some time in 2026 from Hong Kong University Press)

Wind, rain and delayed trains. But I've had some great meetings with PhD students and I've just signed another book contract. This one is for a textbook, to be called 'An Introduction to Martial Arts Studies'. I'm co-writing it with Alex Channon. So, today is officially a good day.

It's exploded in UK media today - BBC TV, Radio, and online news. Also Channel 4. This is good. Much needed. Too many adoptive families have needlessly been put through hell. The system is comprehensively broken

"'What if we just can't do this any more?'... [T]he social worker's reply came without a moment's hesitation: 'You'll be prosecuted for child abandonment'."

Thank you BBC for investigating the UK Adoption Scandal. It can't go on like this
