Reading the book Abundance. Great book about the main problem that plagues virtually every modern economy: „rules have increased, while efficiency has decreased.“ Suggests an easy solution to increase living standards.

How about Merton's idea of universalism, that particularistic criteria such as race, nationality, religion should be irrelevant in the pursuit of knowledge?

The Great Feminization
In 2019, I read an article about Larry Summers and Harvard that changed the way I look at the world.

It would be great if the commission could start by reverting its legislation that cars beep incessantly as soon as one breaches the speed limit by 1 kmh. Just like endless cookie warnings, this really gets people mad at the EU, driving them into the arms of populist parties instead.

Sure, we’ll talk again after your first ride in your dream car.

You could start by reversing the Commission's legislation requiring cars to beep incessantly as soon as one goes 1 km/h faster than the speed limit on the speedometer, effectively forcing to drive below the speed limit. Constant beeping in modern cars is a huge distraction, reducing road safety.

Especially because since journals / publishers seemingly outsourced their "copy editing" to India, you usually get your manuscript back with more mistakes than you sent it in with.

"Was treibt Männer an" = Sexismus

Ja, den Artikel habe ich gelesen.
