This is the second time in two weeks that weather has forced me to deal with Air Canada booking staff. I have to say it was not as unpleasant as expected although the flight changes still suck.

I just learned that celebrated Canadian military historian Tim Cook passed away yesterday. I didn't know him well but he was always generous and supportive of my mediocre forays into military history. I'm gutted. My condolences to his family. What a terrible loss.

As a Canadian living near the border I can say this might--but only might--happen when he's gone. There's a lot of emotional scar tissue to heal and trust to repair.
