I woke up thinking how I might continue to center hope, continue to move towards liberation. While I’m not sure of the answers I do know that we are in this together.

Join the social work activist collective in Jan 30th to begin to build together.

As we prepare for a new year and new challenges with the political and social landscape, I thought I'd share this paper I wrote a few years ago. Working for social justice is about more than self-care.

Statistical citizenship is a concept that is used to describe the political effects of what is counted—or not counted.

In this case, refusing to investigate a these deaths denies the statistical citizenship of the victims of this policy regime.

One of my big efforts in reshaping how we teach our diagnosis and assessment MSW course is to weave scholarship that incorporates lived experience, Mad/Crip Theory and other Critical Theories, and Epistemic Justice work throughout the course. Clinicians' aren't the only or even best experts on this.
I'm not always down with the people doing psychoanalysis in that super academic theoretical way in their writing because it seems like they go off into flights of romanticized fancy about madness & see it as abstraction but are rarely listening to mad people. @coolhand.bsky.social

1/ We're experiencing a huge influx of users, and with that, a predictable uptick in harmful content posted to the network.

As a result, for some very high-severity policy areas like child safety, we recently made some short-term moderation choices to prioritize recall over precision.
