Prop sword I'm working on for my sister's friend. 3d printed in PETG with arduino controlled WS2812b leds. Still needs a hearty sanding and paint but it's coming along.

Slow mo video (I think 8x slowmo?) of a 16x color oversampling method, allowing me to get ~12 bits per color on a ws2812b instead of 8 bits per color. The flicker looks nice in person, and can't really be seen behind any diffusion.

The quoted tweet is running on an STM32G031, 64MHz 32-bit Cortex-M0+, with 8K RAM. So a bit faster than an OG arduino, but much smaller than an RP2040.
This is just a single linear channel, it's a 100-LED string of SK6812-style leds (very similar to WS2812B). It could do a few channels, but 1 here.

After prototype 1 which had about H0 scale, let's try prototype 2 in n-scale. WS2812b 1010 this time.

it seems the sk6812 chip ( a clone of the ws2812b) uses the exact same timing diagrams (clear copy/pasta) in datasheet.
But the timings are slightly off.. 0.3+0.9 (that sum up to 1.25 according to datasheet) vs. 0.45+0.8 of the other one.
Now set it to 0.35/0.9 and that works ok for both.

I'm thinking of streaming on Twitch to try it out in the next week or so.
Any topics you'd want to see?
* Write a Rust INA219 driver for the @adafruit breakout
* Bring up my Test Adapter board hw rev 2
* Write a test plan for the LiPo stamp
* Play with 32x32 ws2812b panels

"16±6.5 V differential Manchester encoding run in parallel with AC mains" does not sound much of anything like WS2812B

The first game I made for it is a 2 player dungeon crawler where you need to collect all rainbows. One player walks, the other shoots and each time you pickup a rainbow, your controls switch over.
Also notice the ammo counter on the arcade stick itself, also ws2812b leds (this time over serial)

Can you build a board with WS2812B + full H-bridge for DC motor control?
Red -> IN_A (motor direction)
Green -> IN_B
Blue -> EN (motor speed)
If you don't, I will eventually do it ...

A few (~20 each) meters of LED i finished just in time for #why2025
I don't know what exactly i will do with them but I think one of them will light up my tent. ^^
(If I get the power situation solved)

Whoa that’s awesome!! Is it just like ws2812B LEDs behind some matte acrylic?

Happy to answer.
The white strip is just nylon strapping. In that photo I am only running the LEDs at 29% brightness to not blind people so plenty of light shines through this material and diffuses nicely. The LEDs are the 5V addressable WS2812B. I use these so only 3 wires are needed instead of 4
