#WordWeavers 17/2: Would you still write if you had to use a typewriter or pen and paper?
Typewriter? Sure, maybe, but it'd be riddled with spelling mistakes, as i type fast and need to fix em after dumping a few paragraphs.
Pen and paper? No, my handwriting is atrocious

To stab that little Imposter Syndrome gremlin in the face and continue writing to spite the little b@st@rd.

#WordWeavers Feb 15: Describe your MC's eyes

Paulie has bright cinnamon brown downturned eyes

Gordon has sullen & dulled olive green deepset eyes that temporarily brighten when he gets hopeful or drunk

I might not draw them right lol but this is what I imagine

#WordWeavers 15/2: Describe your MC’s eyes.
For Sam it's just average unremarkable blue.
For Nyxel it's a different stories. Green-yellow pre transformation, pure Green after. Irises in the form of a three pointed slit, like a cat's eyes but with an extra pointy bit.

If computers didn't exist? Sure, that's how I started after all, even if nothing I wrote long-hand was ever published.

#WordWeavers 2/14. Who does your antagonist care about?

A secret lair under a volcano.

With a private bathroom for the executive office.

#WordWeavers 12/2: What would you tell a fellow writer struggling with self-doubt?
To paraphrase an answer Jim Butcher gave to an interviewer: keep going. Every step you take is a step someone else didn’t, every step puts you ahead of the person who never took one.

To always believe in that voice deep inside of you that has a story to be told. Your instincts are never wrong, even if you struggle with the mechanics of getting your story into the light of day.

#WordWeavers 9/2: Have you ever talked to a reader of your story? How did it go?
Besides #WIPSnips , a few times. Generally positive and getting better over time, but that little imposter syndrome b@st@rd voice in my head keeps telling me it's all lies.

#WordWeavers 12/2: What would you tell a fellow writer struggling with self-doubt?
Remember the impulse that made you want to write in the first place.
& remember that the point about your writing is that it’s *yours*. Nobody else can write what you can.

#wordweavers 12. What would you tell a fellow writer who was struggling with self-doubt?

When I was still working as a Mental Health Counclor I had a couple of clients where this was a major concern. Generally, I focused on why they were creators. Most would say as an artistic outlet. On the […]

#WordWeavers 10 Feb: Have you ever dedicated your work to someone?

#mrsCleyton is the first book I’m dedicating to someone and it’s to a stranger. We met at a bar in Norway. We had beers. Plenty. I think we exchanged names, but I forgot. He needed a pickup so we shared stories. We cried together.

#WordWeavers 8/2: Most frustrating thing about writing?
That it takes so long, and getting lots of word down all at once is so tiring!
It's not fair.

For this story? My husband's the only person who's read any of it yet. The slugs got a good reaction.

Turning my blobby imaginings into a story that lives outside my head where other people can enjoy it.

#WordWeavers Feb 7: What’s the most rewarding thing about writing?

Tough to pick. Fun turns of phrase and the "I love it when a plan comes together" at novel size are both great.

Also those moments of cackling over something that's going to get a real strong reaction from readers.

Oh, it was a poem about a hill, second grade.
• Illustrated
• nature poetry
• included the moon
• used limerick meter & rhyme
• rhymed "hill" with "hill." Definitely rhymes.

Look back at the first thing you wrote. What did you do right?

If we're talking about the story I wrote in 5th grade about a sheepdog named Chester, not too daggone much, lol.

I’m apparently prone to write good characters who are klutzy and awkward.

Gee, I wonder why lol. 😅
#WordWeavers 2/2: Do you enjoy writing good, bad, or morally grey characters more? Why?
I like writing them all, but i also like having the morally bad characters convincingly squashed, preferably in subtly comedic manners.

#WordWeavers 31/1: What’s your MC’s relationship with food like?
Jerya’s more an ‘eat to live’ person than a ‘live to eat’ one, but she enjoys food well enough, and cooking too, when she has time.
And beer. Not to excess, always quality over quantity.

#WordWeavers Jan 30: If there was a party, would your MC be the center of it or hiding in the corner?

In between. Eokar enjoys the harvest festival (for example) but prefers not to get into the wildest parts of it.

That said, if you drink too much of the good mead...
