My current focus is writing #wolhien and #obram, but I've written plenty of #haurchewol, #guydesan, and #emmasica that I'm still quite proud of!

Bram and Hien kiss on the Azim Steppe. Sunlight filters through the space between them, glowing warmly. Bram and O'bren laugh together on the docks in Costa del Sol, both of them dressed in beachwear. Bram fondly presses their foreheads together while O'bren peeks out of one eye. An AO3 fic series called "Sunrise over Saisho." The description reads: Bram Matsuno and Hien Rijin become fast friends after the Scions travel to the East, seeking to divide Garlean forces and win a path to freedom for Doma and Ala Mhigo. Neither carries any memories of the world that existed before imperial rule, but both are devoted to creating a future where the lifestyle and traditions of the past might one day be restored. In working together to accomplish this task they grow nearer and dearer to one another, until at last they surrender to their passions. But difficulties lie in the shadows of their own internal struggles and being together is not so simple as it might seem. Will they triumph over specters of the past? Or will their lives remain divided by walls neither of them carries the power to surmount? An AO3 series called "The Color of Joy". The description reads: When a chance encounter in the Quicksand results in an evening of fun, neither Bram nor O'bren expect anything more. They've never even had a proper conversation, really, and both of them carry their own wounds that make the prospect of love more of a hurdle than an aspiration. But when fate sees fit to keep throwing them together, time and proximity allow their bond to deepen into something more precious than either of them ever could have anticipated.

Last little snippet from my rewrite of the first chapter to Scars and Sunshine!!! I just love this scene so much and really just how tender Hien is with Silva about something so vulnerable to her 🥹

"They are beautiful, [Wildflower.] So beautiful. Not because they are a part of you, but also because of the meaning behind why you have them in the first place — love. There's no need to feel any shame about your scars whatsoever," Hien told her, his voice warm and comforting. He watched her eyes widen, a stuttered gasp leaving her. His thumb stroked against her cheek as his other hand ran feather-light touches along one of her scars. “If anything, I think you should be proud of them and yourself. The strength and courage it took for you to throw yourself in harm's way to save someone you loved and could not be without, to nearly sacrifice yourself because you believed it was the right thing. It's the most selfless thing you could ever do for another person. It is so inspiring, Silva.” Oh… Oh, gods— How did he always know what words to say to make her pause and reflect? To get her another perspective? And then Hien did something that melted her heart. Silva felt his body shift again, and something warm brushed against the topmost scar. His mouth— he was kissing her healed wounds. Again and again, soft. Gentle enough not to startle her, but enough to have her softly gasping as he left a trail of sweet kisses down the old, smooth-jagged lines. And he didn't stop there, no. Hien did it with each of the four large slash marks on her upper shoulders and back, dusting love to her skin. Tears gathered in Silva's eyes, beyond touched. “I…” she whispered, her voice wavering with emotion as she took in his thoughtful words. “I’ve never looked at it that way before.” It was honestly one of the sweetest, most caring things the young lord had ever said to her, and she was genuinely awestruck. A light laugh left her as he wiped away a few stray tears that escaped, saying, “I won’t lie, I actually do not know how to respond to that. I just…” What she felt couldn't be described with words.

"Silva." "Hm?" "I… I hope you know that you're always welcome to talk to me about anything when you're in my company," he promised. Against Hien's better judgement, he reached for her hand, lacing his fingers through hers and squeezing tightly. A soft gasp escaped Silva as he did. "That the gesture you extend to me is also extended to you at any time. You'll always be safe here with me." Some would think him a fool to offer her that vow — one he'd told her time and time again already when it was brought up — but he meant it. He really did, even if it might kill him one day. Hien waited for her to pull away when she froze, waited to see if she would scold him for his brashness. Blood roared in his ears as his heart hammered against his ribs as he waited, holding his breath as they stared at one another in silence. But she did neither of those things. No, she offered him the sweetest smile that had the power to light the shadows in his heart and soul, and returned the squeeze. "I— Thank you, Hien. I'll remember that," Silva told him, brushing her thumb against his. "I will." It was his turn to gasp, bright sparks of levin dancing along his skin when she gripped his palm, his lips curving into a crooked grin. "Good." Together, the two Domans lay in the grassy field filled with colorful wildflowers swaying in the warm breeze, basking in the sun and clear skies. They didn't exchange anymore words. But they shared looks, heartfelt smiles, soft laughter at untold jokes, all while holding hands and blushing. There was no pain here, only peace and a comfort he hadn't felt in a long time. And he selfishly took it and held it close. If this were the only dream Hien had of Silva after tonight, he was glad it was something like this.

Hien couldn't remember the last time he had a dream — a good one at that, not a nightmare. And with such vivid clarity before. It felt so… real. The sun was warm on his skin, bright and shining down on him in golden rays as the occasional cloud rolled overhead. The sweet scent of wildflowers filled his senses, comforting him. He watched as the strong breeze stirred their soft, multicolored petals free from the surrounding blooms. How they danced in the wind with joy… Beautiful. Not unlike an Auri girl he'd come to know. The thought made him sigh. He wasn't surprised that even in his dreams he couldn't escape having her on his mind — and in his heart. "Kami…" he mumbled, closing his eyes. "What am I going to do?" No one was here to answer his question, except for the stray cry of a red hawk flying in the clear skies above him. He was alone. Until he wasn't. "What's got you frowning, Hien?" a familiar voice asked him, concern dripping from each word. "You look as if someone dealt you a shitty hand for Doman Mahjong." Hien's peridot eyes snapped open, turning his head to find vibrant sea-green ones looking back at him. Oh… Oh no. This couldn't be possible. "Silva," he whispered. "I… How are you—" Silva was lying in the tall grass with him, wearing that sweet smile that always took his breath away. It still did now, even in a dream. Joy shimmered in her eyes. Yellow, blue, and white flower petals lay scattered across her body, face, and hair, but they didn't seem to bother her. No, they could cover her all over, and he would still find her beautiful. Yet his fingers twitched with the effort not to reach out and brush off the petals decorating her cheeks. (How dare they hide her plum-colored freckles.) So he could see just how warm her skin was under his thumb. "How am I… what?" she asked, tilting her head. 'How are you in my dreams?' was the thought crossing his mind, lingering on his tongue. But he didn't dare say the question aloud. That would be… foolish. Dreams had a mind of their own, after all.

"You've been staring at the stars for what feels like eons, Silv," she heard Ricmorn remark from her right. She didn't have to glance his way to know he was smirking. "Easy now, my friend!" Hien laughed. Silva heard the faint swish of his long ponytail shaking back and forth, biting the inside of her cheek to hold back a smile. "It hasn't been nearly that long. Perhaps a bell or two, at most? Besides, she's beautiful when the heavens dance in those vibrant eyes of hers. I could watch them all night…" "Sweet talker." Silva couldn't help but laugh at their antics. "I haven't been lying here under the night sky for that long, you two. I doubt it's been twenty minutes. Seems you both have trouble keeping track of time and how it works." She slowly sat up on her elbows when they chuckled, amusement shimmering in their hazel and sky-blue eyes, her long tail swaying slowly in the grass. "I will, however, take that compliment." Hien flashed her a blinding smile before leaning down to steal a sweet kiss from her lips. "I'm happy to give them out whenever, [Wildflower,]" he murmured. "Just say the word." "Oh?"
