Remember that a large proportion of French grape producers ("large" in terms of revenues) are not small communities in beautiful villages but mass producers of industrial alcohol. It serves their shareholders to maintain a false image of winegrower identity.

Luxembourg wines surprising in 2024 despite record rainfall
Mid-September 2024 I met Marc Berna in the Ahn Vogelsang vineyard in glorious weather. The winegrower proudly showed me his clusters of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, as fresh as daisies, glistening in the sun and showing no sign of rot.He was looking forward to the imminent harvest, hoping for good weather. The winegrowers have suffered enough from the persistent summer rains, and have had to treat the grapes much more often than usual to prevent vine diseases. But the rain was not going to spare the harvest either.A vintage that favoured Burgundy grape varieties3 March 2025. four and a

I am a wine mom in that I’m a winegrower and I can attest to the truth of the below state of play.
A LOT of liberal wine moms watched Roe go down and now thirst for the taste of GOP blood and flesh in their hungry jaws.

NO demographic is more willing to rip a screeching GOP white man apart limb-from-limb as he pisses himself in terror.

We must do everything we can to unite with them.
do not underestimate the depths of the normie mom’s white hot rage about what is happening to abortion in this country

The cooperative movement was a noble ideal, sharing of resources, solidarity, all that. But it divorced the winegrower from the reality of wine, and the market. The majority are nice ordinary farmers doing ther job. But allow themselves to be wound up by the rhetoric of few rabble rousers.

Many years ago, I met an Italian winegrower who was just like that. After tasting his excellent wines, he showed us a large number of his photographs that were good, artistic (imho), but almost exclusively showing young women with minimal, if any, clothing in natural landscapes.

Hail Cannons. First devised 1896 by Austrian winegrower M. Albert Stinger. Intermitted explosions (every 4 secs) send shock waves 300m high into the clouds to prevent the formation of hailstones. In 1900, more than 10,000 hail cannons ran in Austria & Italy. After doubts they were abandoned in 1905
