McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because fragmentation is done by design and eventually becomes ideology. Values are slipped quietly into our habits. We start to live the logic without realizing it. #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

McLuhan want us to stop thinking in parts because he want us to connect everything, whole thing together and accept the different, the separation is normal like the body vs mind, thinking vs doing.

McLuhan doesn't want us to think in parts because he doesn't want us to only thing about the message (content) of media, and look into the way media affects us. #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because thinking is the foundation of being, and fragmenting the mind causes us to value arguments, not atmospheres, making us less aware of the environments around us (Ashley). #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

mcluhan dosent want us to think in parts because it leads to wrong assumptions. the individual becomes the center of knowledge #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

mcluhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because it stops us from fully seeing everything as a whole, that’s my definition, for some reason my understanding is a lot better than putting it into my own words #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

McLuhan doesn't want us to think in parts because it leads to assumptions which are incorrect. We mistake institutional categories for human nature, which is not accurate. Our smartest thoughts might be shaped by invisible logic that we didn't choose. #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

McLuhan does not want us categorize human emotions or actions into their own box because then every separation has its own expert and boundaries. McLuhan wants us to know that fragmentation isn't normal. Makes me question college if its not natural for humanity to specialize.

#Hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants he wants us to unlearn this idea that media == content, but rather media goes beyond just content, and how it impacts our relationships, emotions, etc.

He believes it is an error to segment thinking in this way, because by doing so you become so comfortable with the medium that it functionally unable to perceive that you have been changed (and your thoughts hampered) by it.

Thinking in parts makes us focus on doing just the task instead of the big picture OR how it makes us feel. Personally I believe think it all, parts, full, backwards, upside down, inside out, think it all

McLuhan does not want us to think it parts because he states that fragmentation influences the way we do everything. We become so focused on doing the task instead of noticing how it makes us think #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because the splits that have become out normal have been baked into how we read, write, and explain. #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants

#answeringparttwo #hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants he wants us to unlearn these splits to finally notice the content and form…

He warns that fragmentation is training you, how long to do something, when to stop, what emotions to feel when doing it. Things like logic in opposition to feeling have a history. When operating within the fragment you (habitually) dont notice form & look only at content.
