If you're running it in a Docker image you'll need to run with --net=host due to WebRTC allocating lots of ports in the UDP ephemeral range! If you're not and it's just a firewalling issue you can just allow incoming traffic on ports 32768-60999, that'll do it

curious what you'd need to reverse proxy for webrtc? just the signalling part?

Learned two things today:
- I don't know how to properly reverse-proxy webrtc and I'm too lazy to learn it rn, so my testing @stream.place instance is going to be offline until I get the motivation for it
- there's a vintage cartoon stream live 24/7 on it and it's AWESOME

Coming out of a rabbit hole about imagining Zarr as video container format.

Could this enable server free streaming video? If Zarr stored torrents, could I directly watch a video from a magnet link? Could we exploit webrtc somehow on the client side for fast p2p data transmission?

LLHLS was like livepeer’s version of “full self-driving”, chased it for years but never got smooth iOS playback. entirely possible the ecosystem had matured and it’s good now but that frustration was what got me so into webrtc

Webrtc is a nightmare stack of weird protocols. I really want p2p webtransport.

Here's the idea: a browser running inside WASM rendering to a canvas controlled by a parent browser. WebRTC to the TOR Snowflake network.

A single page web application that's a relatively safe tor browser.

Not an easy problem 😅
