In their new site in the desert, they stand as a sundial, with the dishes of the Very Large Array visible behind them.

Heads up, astronomy fans! You can spot the NSF Very Large Array in the brand-new Apple TV+ series ‘Pluribus.’ Our giant dishes aren’t just background scenery, but actually play into - and kick off - the show’s main storyline! 📡 #Pluribus #VeryLargeArray

[astronomers clamoring] is a regular occurrence at the VLA, even when we're not on tv.

only a little ways into Pluribus but this is the kind of screen that basically guarantees I will want to watch the rest of it

One of the dream pictures of my recent trip, was trying to catch The Very Large Array and the Milky Way in the same photo. I even got a bonus meteor!

Visited the #VeryLargeArray while in #NewMexico and, unusually, bought a souvenir; there's always T-shirts to fit my wife but not me, but this mug seemed awesome. Got it home through checked baggage intact, had one cup of tea in it, dropped it, smash. Decided to try to save it. Now, paint it or not?

Happy National Dog Day from the VLA! 🐕📡

Well-behaved pups are welcome in all outdoor public areas at the Very Large Array as long as they are kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.

Girls will be like "I needed this" and it's literally just skies dark enough to see all the stars ✨

Groundbreaking Magnetic Field Discovery Near Massive Protostar Made Possible by NSF NRAO’s Very Large Array - National Radio Astronomy Observatory
Astronomers using NSF NRAO’s Very Large Array have, for the first time, detected magnetic fields near a massive infant star, shedding new light on stellar birth and cosmic jet formation.

Listening to the universe. The "Very Large Array" run on train tracks so they can change their positions on the vast San Augustine Plains in New Mexico. Jody Foster made this group of receivers famous in the movie, "Contact". #photography #VeryLargeArray #landscapes #NewMexico

Met some friends ( @shogostormcrow.bsky.social & Chloe ) at the VLA to attempt some photography. Weather didn’t clear up as predicted and the 35mph wind made it too cold to stay long. Got some good binocular viewing in, though. #VeryLargeArray #NewMexico

Stopped by the VLA(Very Large Array). The weather was way less dramatic than the last time 15 or 20 years ago whenever that was. Still pretty cool to see:)

Very Large Array
is a centimeter-wavelength radio astronomy observatory in the southwestern United States built in the 1970s. It lies in central New Mexico on the Plains of San Agustin, between the towns of Magdalena and Datil.
