- Vekoma is very good now, suddenly
- RMC stays elite
- Intamin can build *literally anything* if you pay them enough
- Mack is surging with tons of great rides
- B&M is still mid but the general public loves their slop, so who am I to judge

All this and so much more!
It’s 2026 and so many people don’t even know that we are in the Golden Age of Roller Coasters

What I would add as the next coaster at each park I went to in 2025:

We’re counting down to 2026 with a look back at some of the new roller coasters that opened this past year.

⚡️Let’s flash back to The Flash: Vertical Velocity, the Vekoma Super Boomerang that debuted at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.

Let’s hope for a Vekoma Coaster in the near future.

It may have taken Vekoma 23 years to finally get their next one (or three!) open, but the first and original tilt coaster was Gravity Max at Taiwan's LIHPAO Land Discovery World.

So why don't y'all come take a ride on Taiwan's most iconic roller coaster:

The original Ninja removal rumor indicated that it would likely stay at least until the new inverted Vekoma opened, so hopefully with that project pushed back and now two kiddie coasters set to leave in 2026, hopefully Ninja got a bit of a life extension.
Glad Six Flags Magic Mountain is getting it's kiddie area redone, it looks like it could be popular with families.

That said, I was really hoping Samurai Summit would be the next area to be refurbed... makes you wonder if they're just going to close that area off if they close Ninja

Phoenix Rising REALLY reminded me of the vekoma family invert at Kings Island. And that is very much not a good thing.
December 13, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Vekoma launch with one inversion and a low height limit, more like a modern Scorpion.

Well, they aren't getting along with intamin and no one else makes a giga. And I think thats what Florida's missing most.

Zamperla want to build that big, but they are untested, and I think Vekoma could but they haven't shown any interest in doing so.

So that leaves B&M.

Busch Gardens Tampa needs another big coaster. Desperately. It really felt like something was missing.

A wing or a giga from b&m or a vekoma tilt or a multi-launch would be amazing. Something Florida in general just doesn't have.

When I rode Rapterra I though people were making up the whole "B&M ratttle" thing.

Nope. Phoenix Rising rides like an old vekoma family invert, not a B&M.

What a shame. It doesn't ruin the ride but man.

Fair but not stuff this bad. Unexpectedly closing down one of their parks and making the Vekoma flying dutchman model coasters extinct in the process is pretty bad as was axing Kingda Ka. But this? This is so much worse than axing Kingda Ka to make investors happier. Who knew that making entire

Despite some of the discourse regarding about whether Guardians of the Galaxy belongs at EPCOT or not, Cosmic Rewind is still a great indoor coaster from Vekoma with some fun forces and unique ride system too! (also got September for both rides)

Modern Vekoma coasters are incredible. Butter smooth. Great forces throughout. Interesting layouts that flow without jank. And the most comfortable restraints on the market.

And you can trace it all back to 2016 when they built Formula at Energylandia:
