#validity
Thank you for writing this.
I was at a presentation of a study of lesbian and gay parents in 2010 that echoes some of this study's findings. And both back then and now, study's like these are validating in a place where we have to usually build our own validity, that we are, in fact, rather good

Want better AI? Involve human experts.

New research from HRDAG and Cornell's CAT Lab offers powerful evidence for how participatory models improve reliability and validity. LINK

Buuuuut I mean, even though most uses for NFTs were complete garbage, that doesn't mean the _idea_ itself doesn't have some validity.

If I said "how about a distributed public append-only database where you can record ownership changes?" would that sound as bad? 😀

Oh no worries! I wasn't raising any sort of dissent, but rather expressing the validity of your experience! We tend to have a mental schema of "bi" that's just more constrained than the reality is, so it's like "heck yeah, do it the way YOU want!" you know?

Is this the headline, or should the headline be the validity of the 2024 election?

WTF with @sarahkendzior.bsky.social still being off this platform‽‽‽

How long does it take a phalanx of bots to determine the validity of sharing lyrics about watching any particular person or institution or crappy WSJ piece die?

The Appeals Court is tackling a complex case that could redefine post-foreclosure rights and the validity of evictions in Massachusetts!

Appeals Court addresses mootness and chain-of-title disputes in post-foreclosure appeal
The panel questioned whether an appeal is moot after the appellant vacated the property, whether Pinti (Penty/Pint(y) in briefs) should apply retroactively to void a foreclosure, and whether an appellant who relinquished possession must still pay use-and-occupancy to pursue an appeal.

Yup! As a survivor myself, I’m starting to question the validity of her claiming to be an assault survivor. She’s giving off the fake “I have cancer” scams that narcissistic sociopaths do. How dare she make this about herself. How despicable.

The humbling realization I had was that we weren't failing because people didn't care. We were failing because we lacked language to describe what we were witnessing together. Each team was sincere. Each narrative carried validity. But without shared vocabulary, we couldn't bridge the distance. /4

Experiments are a whole other mess when it comes to causal inference because without external validity you don't have anything. See the paper by Esterling and Brady I posted earlier: www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi...

I read on the internet (so you know it’s true) that once you get to 218 it’s locked in and there isn’t anything that can be done to undo it. Does anyone know the validity of this?

"while there was some discussion of the constitutional principle of nondelegation – the validity of an apparently limitless delegation of authority to the president – that topic did not really take center stage either. Instead, it was verbs."

In tariff cases, verbs rather than major pronouncements about presidential power give the court the off-ramp it’s looking for
Clear Statements is a recurring series by Abbe R. Gluck on civil litigation and the modern regulatory and statutory state. Verbs, verbs, verbs. Court-watchers hoping for fireworks over the reach of […...

And now the story has legs, the same media are running with it as if it is a fact. No testing the validity. No searching for the antecedents. Juat sensationalism to undermine the government and our democracy.
So this is interesting from Robert Peston.

The claims of people inside No 10 briefing the press about the PM fighting for his leadership appear to be wrong.

As I speculated this morning, it appears to have been nothing more but a response to a question from a journalist!

I'm not sure about the validity of this story. I have it on good authority that trans people don't need to urinate.

I am going to blame both sexism, and general cultural anxiety about leadership and its validity.

Someone on Twitter said that the victim who was mentioned in the email debunked the validity of the email that has been circulating

Beyond the fact that a the victim would have NO way of knowing what emails were sent by Epstein/Maxwell. The victim is LITERALLY censored, THE NAME IS BLACKED OUT

"at this moment"
Which has a validity period of 5 minutes

@mattblaze I think what you mean is “one that requires significant, compelling evidence to *convince intelligent people of its validity*”. We are not dealing with intelligent people.

Detransitioners also have little support and recognition. Amid that void, “gender-critical” organizations — which reject the validity of trans identities — have stepped in.

Including the founders of Genspect, an advocacy group identified as an LGBTQ+ hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

New technologies like AI come with big claims – the scientific concept of validity can cut through the hype. Scientists across all fields make various claims about their innovations. Validity tests check whether they deliver. theconversationus.cmail20.com/t/r-l-tktutu...

I do think there's validity in pointing out that the Texas teams in particular are increasingly in unworkable climate situations, too. Either way, I think the league needs to get ready to put better rules in place around weather-related cancelations.
